Chair Position at Kathmandu university

 

Dr. Ajaya Kumar Jha, DM has been awarded the ‘Kathmandu University Chair of Hemato Oncology’ on 25 June 2024 for one year. This honor was conferred following the approval of the 719th meeting of the Kathmandu University Executive Council, upon the recommendation of the Deans of the School of Science and the School of Medical Sciences, as per the Chair Position guidelines of 2021. This appointment not only recognizes Dr. Jha’s significant contributions to medical science but also aims to foster further advancements in hemato-oncology through his expertise and leadership.

Prof. Dr. Ole Gunnar Dahlhaug has been awarded the ‘Kathmandu University Chair of Innovation and Knowledge Transfer’ on 20 March 2024 for one year. Prof. Dahlhaug has been supporting the EnergizeNepal Program, Hydro-Himalayan Project, TTL and NHI at the capacity of Advisory Committee member and is a professor with expertise in hydropower and turbine technology. He has contributed significantly on promoting innovation and has been helpful in transferring the knowledge and technology from Norway to Nepal.

Dr. Ghana Shyam Gurung had been awarded the ‘Kathmandu University Chair of Conservation Biology’ on 26 December 2021 for one year. Dr. Gurung has served as the Country Representative at WWF Nepal, and Snow Leopard Champion of the WWF network. Also, Dr Gurung has accumulated over 20 years of experience in species and people-centered natural resource management, ecotourism development, linking conservation with faith groups, policy engagement, and project negotiations.
